Lortet, French Pyrenees
Our clients bought a vacant hotel, Le Mont d’Aure, on the banks of the River Neste in the small village of Lortet.
The design brief was to produce designs for a new restaurant and bar, to bring the building back to life and create a focal point in the village which is well known locally by anglers and for being on a well known pilgrimage route.
The chef client was keen to create a visual connection between the kitchen and the restaurant seating area, so that he could feel a part of the customer buzz. The restaurant was laid out to have flexibility for long refectory style tables for large visitor groups, as well as making the most of the river views.
